Katrina Week III 7 NERD

"Holy shit!" Katrina squeaked, her entire form going rigid as she halted her shuffling through boxes.

"Ehh? what, you find your first vibrator or something?" Sapherith asks, her mind on the usual subject of sexual endeavors.

"W-what the hell's wrong with you!? NO! I found my old Pathfinder stuff!" She says with a giggle as she pulls out a book and a red bag that rattled with pieces of plastic inside.

"The hell is Pathfinder?" Nitros asks sounding lost.

"It's only one of the BEST table top roleplaying games ever! It's a revamp of 3.5 edition of Dungeons and Dragons, but it fixes a lot of the old rules and really makes a lot of things seem fresh!" She says knowingly as she sets the book down behind her and opens her little bag.

"Wow.... I knew you could be a little bit of a nerd sometimes but... fuck, I'm almost embarrassed to say I know you..." Sapherith says looking at her father who still looked confused. "How'd you get with such a nerd?"

"I-It's not THAT nerdy... I-I just... liked playing table top games... they were fun..."

"What do you do with em anyway? And what's in the bag?" Nitros says, still unsure of what exactly this game did.

Katrina smiled again and dumped the bag's contents on the floor, revealing the multi colored and shaped dice. "You roll dice and fight monsters! You make a character picking one of the classes in the book and then you and your friends go on adventures!" She squeaks. "Sapherith, You'd be a rogue since you're sneaky and like to touch people's stuff without their permission... and Nitros, you'd be a Fighter, because fighters are strong and like to hit things with their sword! And Me... I like spell casting classes! Specifically I like being Clerics since everyone depends on you to save them from trouble with your healing magic!! It's just so cool!!" She squeaks.

".... Wait... so it's like... an MMO?" Nitros asks, thinking about the online games he'd played before.

"Ehh? Kind of, but this came BEFORE that. This is like an MMO for your imagination.... Inside are all the rules and numbers to stat out your characters."

".... So it's Math?"

"It's not math! It's a game!"

"Ooooh......" Nitros says crossing his arms and nodding. "... I don't get it."

Katrina sighs. "Neither did most of the kids in my class. I got made fun of it a lot and Rashika even threw one of my books in a river once because It was so uncool... but the kids that DID play with me had fun! It's something we could never experience anywhere else! A friendship like no other! We'd fight dragons, rescue princesses, get treasure! We'd even go on battles against religious cults or missions of Governmental espionage! The only thing that limited us was our minds!" She purred casually rolling a few of the dice and giggling when one of the 20 sided ones landed on the 20.

Sapherith looked at Nitros and shook her head as her mother was speaking laughing a little as she walked away leaving Nitros there to watch his wife ramble on about something he had no idea what it was.

".... So... you fight monsters and stuff in this math game?" Nitros asks.

"IT'S NOT FUCKING MATH NITROS! IT'S A FUN GAME WITH WIZARDS AND DINOSAURS AND SHIT!"

Katrina squeaks, obviously angry now that her husband didn't seem to understand a thing about her favorite game. He stood there staring at the book for a few moments longer.

"..... Maybe we can play it sometime..." Nitros says, seeing how much she enjoyed her weird little game, and honestly interested in both wizards and dinosaurs.

"O-oh, ok. I'm sure I could get people together and we could..." she says sort of embarrassed now to be talking about it.

"Sweet. I can be a fighter, and you can be one of those Clark things you love so much."

"CLERIC!!"

"Here's a second idea, this time non-stuffing related: After moving some old storage boxes (for a reason of your choosing) Katrina finds a long a long lost childhood toy/game she used to love. And still does ^///w///^. This could range from a stuffed animal, to a video game, to Magic the Gathering (depending on how nerdy a kid she was )."

How nerdy was she? The answer is... Very.

And remember, Katrina lives about 80 years from our current time in the future, so Pathfinder is like... Vintage in her time. She was the equivalent to those kids playing NES games at their friends house instead of getting a PS4. She hung out with a lot of preppy rich kids at her school because she too was a rich kid, however most of them didn't like to play nerdy games with her. In the end, she played table top games with some of her other friends she gained while in school.

When Lord Bater suggested a game she would play and wondered how nerdy she was, I instantly thought of what it was going to be XD.
